Plan of war
Welcome back dears, it’s finally here. This time we are back with our main crew and are dealing with the dreadful implications of the knowledge we gained with our drone- err, I mean our bat familiar. We have a visual of the priest talking to the enemy commander Bleu.
That Bitch! That’s my thing!
Don’t I have copyright? Or like a trademark?
Crowns are fairly common Mordred, I don’t think you can claim to own the idea of them.
But then again, our crowns came with this magic power from the lost era, what if this priestess is the same?
I’ve been in this armor for like a few weeks, it’s all new to me still.
I doubt the uptight Lucia I remember would divest her power, but like it’s been what, thousands of years?
I didn’t come here for history lessons, can we move on to the sieging and plundering.
Shut up about profit, we need to win first.
Fuck off with this word soup. Can we get something useful!?
Uh guys, I think that-
I want to punch her! Can I punch her for stealing my crown!
My team needs to get money to resupply, plunder is what makes the piracy go round.
Hana was trying to say something-
Huum I can’t? I copy spells from creatures, not people…
Guys I really want to PUNCH HER! LET ME PUNCH HER!
The priest is gesturing at our famili-
Try to cloak the familiar, with that spell I taught you Ophi!
People, Hanna noticed something-
Can EVERYONE SHUT THE HELL UP!
I CAN HARDLY THINK WITH THIS FUCKING NOISE!
CAN I GET A GOOD IDEA PLEASE!
Too late guys
The muscular, hulking figure beside the cleric grasped his weapon. With a swirl of mana, a single swing cut our poor familiar in twain.
Hey! That was my free tv you just broke! How am I going to figure out if Bella is going to get with the wolfkin or the nice mouse accountant if you break my free reality tv drone. I’m making a formal complaint!
Well, at least it’s over now.
I think we should begin deploying as quickly as we can before they have a chance to reinforce their defenses even further and conscript more troops.
I’m ready to march out as well, I’ve already recovered my mana.
Well, I’m already a persona non grata in Gouda, so I’ll be offering support about my ship.
How many minions can your airship carry?
Here, come with me into the war room, I need to measure it out.
Sure, go on a-head, I’ll catch up.
Sans another words, Ceres grabbed Lupin by his armpit and physically lifted him. I shall take this opportunity to censor his squawking such that we can move on to more juicy details.
Fuck You Too!
I’m not much use in an urban battle, could I remain behind to tend to damaged mushies and our forest layer?
It’ll help with minion recruit rates while you are gone.
I need you here that can lead our minions in case they try to backdoor us. You’ll be in charge of the defense while we are on the march.
You think you can manage that as well?
Okay, I’ll keep the tower producing while you are gone!
My bestie Mordred wants to wreck that priest’s ass, so let’s go do it.
Really Jotariel, ‘bestie’?
It’s what they say nowadays.
Well we won’t be marching without you on the front, your skeletons will form the bulk of our vanguard if you can manage it.
What is our Lust Power like? Is it enough to fuel anything?
Well it looks like the readers had the same thought, Hana.
It feels like we are still pretty low after that last lust spell, so we won’t be able to use it for much until it has a chance to recharge.
Senna, how is our numbers looking?
Militarily, we are doing fine, minion numbers have recovered to the point where we could deploy them to the battlefield.
Our internal economy is still getting off the ground, but having another victory will do more to accelerate it, then simply waiting.
Which you can ignore safely for now. In terms of material, we are still deeply in the hole for gold, but raw materials for building are stable.
Maybe our readers have a few ideas
Mercenary work is less useful when we are at war with the land we inhabit.
On the other hand, we are turning a profit with our brothel in Steam Lake Village. Eventually we will get back into the black, if we don’t spend much gold.
With the sudden void of Bleu’s troops and influence, we’ve managed to even recruit non-followers into new employees.
We are becoming popular enough that it should be viable to expand soon, it was a good investment.
We are already working Elgor’s science team hard enough with two research options at once. I don’t want to work him even harder with more work.
Unless we move minions to supplement his staff even further, or build some specialized facilities. I’ll add it to our future plans.
It’s fine for now, we haven’t had a chance to deploy our gunners yet. We still have that to surprise them with.
Uum, that’s not really possible right now….
I may have had a bit of… fun with her. She can’t speak…
Damn it Mordred. Next time, don’t turn our important hostages insensate.
But she shot me!
I will take away your cookies.
Wait, I have stat points?
Yeah, press “C” to open your skill window
You finally have a skill point
What did you never tell me about this?
It’s not like you asked, besides you didn’t have any points to spend…
Well, what do I got to choose from then?
Well, you already have the base tentacle power
Ohh, yeah, that one is great, you can convert girls with it mmm,
The upgrade you got for it is a tentacle barrier, which could be useful for protecting your friends
Ugh, I’m not a huge fan of the tentacles, please tell me I have other choices.
Well, you have a discount Kamehama attack thing, just a ‘lust blast’.
Pretty good range, and seeing people hit by it is quite… fun
Well that’s certainly not something I can do already at least.
Finally a boring physical ability boost power.
It’s not boring, you could jump four times your height in a single bound! Ignore fall damage altogether! Do more Melee damage!
Neat. Is that what those three buttons are for? Why is it so empty?
Most of the coolest abilities require having other abilities first. Just like how having tentacles to begin with lets you grab the barrier.
Well, okay then. I’ll put this off until the readers can give me their opinion. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to choose between them.
What skill Ophi will unlock?
- Lust blast - focus your lust power to create a powerfull beam of lust energy (57%, 95 Votes)
- Leg enhancement - you can jump 4 times higher and ignore all kinds of fall damage. your kicks are 10 times stronger (28%, 47 Votes)
- Tentacle shield - use your darkness tentacles to form a powerfull shield (15%, 25 Votes)
Total Voters: 167
That would be a tier 4 or higher research if I had to guess. When Elgor is less overworked we’ll have him talk about it at least.
Mush! Mush, mushie mush!
Speere! Spe, Speere! Ssspeere.
Perhaps if my dreamweaver machine worked, it could show you the secret ambitions of our cursed minion’s thoughts. Thankfully I broke the machine long ago, so we shan’t be plagued by any more copyright violations.
I broke the machine, I swear. It just started displaying his dream, but I literally melted down the machine. Why did Ophi release that thing? I haven’t been able to trap it back in the first seal, and I’ve been trying pretty hard.
Try not to hope to hard Kamusha, we won’t even be able to start that research for a few months at the earliest.
Perhaps we could improve Speere into a hero unit of his own, have him inherent some of Sapphire’s magical potency. Another hero unit is never bad, and with a second caster, we could have some much-needed utility on our minion heroes.
Aww, how sweet. Speere is just happy having his two friends with him. What a nice and wholesome boy.
D’aww, they are such a good team!
Isn’t he just the bestest. I’m so proud.
You did a surprisingly good job raising him Sapphire.
Hey, what does that mean!
Oh yeah! Ceres should already have the maps in the war room, let’s go check with her.
In the war room, our little team found Ceres mapping out distances between locales of strategic importance and getting Lupin to estimate the time in transit, and how many mushminions he could deploy at each location. Thankfully we have multiple copies of all our maps.
Oh, a war meeting! So cool! Which of their pieces is mine? Do I need to roll my 20 sided dice to move them or something?
Come on Mordred, this isn’t a board game. Just, just pay attention and try to remember what you hear.
Ceres, what do you have for us?
With a quick flick of her wrist, Ceres unrolls a map that carries subterranean information onto the table. If our readers can recall, we found a set of extensive artificial tunnels that connects this isle together. The working intelligence we have suggests that Bleu is utilizing these tunnels to smuggle artifacts across the isle without attracting attention.
Is our plan still to use the tunnels to infiltrate the city with Steve and his team of mushies?
Steve had a chance to take a look, and he found signs of recent use. Since this is Bleu’s tunnels, and because it still sees use, we should assume that the area underneath Gouda is well fortified.
Not to mention that large dude with the priest, imagine how easily he could reap death in those tight corridors. At least, I could, so we should assume their spellswords can do the same.
I would have had the tunnels set to collapse if the defense were overrun, so I don’t think we should rely on them to take Gouda. Instead, we can leave them for our infiltration experts to sneak through when we begin the siege.
At least we should have eyes down there, in case Bleu tries to leave with her troops and continue to fight as a guerrilla force for years to come.
Man this is getting complicated. If we take the area of Gouda that the tunnels connect to, couldn’t we use the tunnels to pipe reinforcements directly into gouda without having to risk mushies getting picked off enroute?
Ceres nods at this and pulls up another map for our team to consider.
We have to assume that whatever Bleu is trying to move around needs to be stored in Gouda at some point. In that case, in order to keep this operation reasonably secret, the tunnel would have to connect to some sort of warehouse, or maybe a full-on vault.
Not that it matters, while securing the tunnels would allow us to safely send a small stream of mushies into gouda directly, it’s still tight enough that we can’t send a full army of mushies that way.
I doubt Bleu would trust any civilian company to store her artifacts, so it has to go to one of her Guild Coffer. So it’ll be quite difficult to claim that building.
In terms of other entrances, Gouda had two main gates in its outer wall.
We should have both gates under siege. Even if it’s just a distraction, having bigshrooms threatening to pop the gates open will force them to present at least a moderate force to protect them. It might even be a chance to take down a hero unit!
Well at the least we can expect the ninja to avoid fighting on the walls. She’ll likely try to use the tunnels to sneak out to attack our command core during the siege right?
That’s what I would expect, yeah. Good catch Ophi! You are getting the hang of this.
That’s really brave Steve, but solo operations are too dangerous to use on a capital city. Too many defenders. Not to mention that they already know what you look like!
They want to be deployed together. Speere thinks he can act as a decent support for them, with Kamusha acting as the power being their squad.
Ophi, I don’t think we can afford to leave a distraction like this on the table if we want to win.
I.. Okay, just stay safe guys. I don’t want to find you taken prisoner okay?
Hey viewers, can I ask you to keep an eye on Steve, Kamusha and Speere for me? Maybe give them a handy suggestion or two?
Oh no, are you that worried Ophi?
It’s just, this is not like the time we were defending. This time I won’t be around to jump in front of our people if a ninja tries to kill them.
Trust your troops Ophi. Some will fall, but most will survive if we just win the day.
Yeah, let’s get this over with.
The final battle approaches. It’s time to win this isle once and for all. A climatic struggle between the tyranny of purity and the freedom for degeneracy. Will Ophi’s grand quest fall at the first capital city? Or will her crusade move onto the sea of stars? Tune in next month for the exciting answer!
Or.. perhaps you would prefer to be a little more than an idle observer. I can hear your ideas, and pass them along to our general next time. Just let me know what you think we should do. How should we spread our forces? Should we commit to just throwing all our minions at the walls? I don’t think so, but I am a mere narrator after all!. Just, please, don’t release any more … Creatures.
